Happy 70th Independence Day Pakistan...!

Dear Steemians,

We Pakistani observe Independence Day (یوم آزادی) annually on 14 August and this is the 70th by the grace of Almighty Allah.

After years of protests, British Rule came to an end by agreeing to the demands of Pakistan Muslim League party under the great leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (The father of the country) and seventy years ago on this day, Hindustan (South Asia) was partitioned into two parts, Pakistan and India. Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign state for Muslims in the subcontinent. The day of independence coincided with Ramadan 27, being Laylat al-Qadr in the Islamic calendar, it is regarded as sacred by the Muslims all over the world.

**This day is celebrated with great zeal and zest every year. The main ceremony takes place in Islamabad, where the national flag is hoisted at the Presidential and Parliament buildings, followed by the live telecasted national anthem. Numerous celebratory events and festivities for the day include flag-raising ceremonies, fireworks, fly past, parades, cultural events, poetry, colorful lights and the playing of patriotic songs.

Multiple award ceremonies are also held and Pakistanis hoist the national flag atop their homes or display it prominently on their vehicles. People feel pride while raising the slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”(Long Live Pakistan).**

Google also created multiple doodles for this day.

I am grateful to Allah for giving me Freedom in such a beautiful country!
