Sunday Melange #136 (Post War America)
Selfishly, because of me and mine, and spiraling out to friends and neighbors and people I know, I don't want America to have to go through what countries like Japan, Russia, Yugoslavia, Angola, or South Africa, have had to go through to change, however temporary, their warlike culture.
Nonetheless, no country has it, ("it" meaning vengeance and retribution) coming, like America does. Who knows how many of these middle class millionaires in the US are living well off of blood money, drug money, or any other kind of dark money that has come their way through the exploitation, knowingly or not, of global slaves fashioning haute couture, or digging up lithium so the wealthy can drive around in EVs pretending that they are saving the planet.
Simply as a result of my nativity, I have blood on my hands, however remotely.
I don't go around flagellating myself over it. I cannot undo it. But I can distance myself from the downward spiral that I've identified as "competitive consumption." (Which, thanks to the scamdemic has knocked a lot of players off of the board.)
Today's episode we, (The Trinity) imagine what a post war America might look and feel like. I don't mean post-war in the sense the we (the citizens) must rebuild due to losing a war the government got us (the citizens) in to, but an era in which other countries, (say for example BRICS+ nations) have made it impossible for America to wage or profit off of war. On anyone.
Regardless of how much I try, I can no more imagine what a post WW2 southern European thought of America in the 1950s, than I can imagine how a dog feels about a squirrel jumping from branch to branch. When we are told that the "world" envies "us," that (although I didn't know it at the time) was clearly a projection. This is a characteristic of "hwight supremacy" (supremacy in general most likely). They admire power and violence and opulence and luxury, and expect others to feel that way about them. So they (it's almost anyone in a position of supremacy) expect that those "lessers" are in awe of their "masters."
It's all in the language. It has become very clear to your humble vagabond, however, I may, myself be projecting, (I doubt it as we have their language over the centuries to buttress our interpretation) that the upper echelon of Americans, the comfortable class, could not compete in an environment in which one could not thrive without the ability to purchase financial products; literally making money off of money. (At some point in the process the "money" that's made comes down to cheap, if not slave labor.)
Anyway... This is our gift to you this Sunday, along with the usual good vibes. Most of us alive today have lived our whole lives within a War Economy, so we don't know anything else. That's why the shift will be so difficult and unimaginable.

YouTube: [The Gymmy Jamm Season 9] Mid-summer, half way through season 9. We reached our bare hands deadlift goal, (350 lbs) and now we have several Dl goals in mind; repping 295-315 bare hands, and pulling 410 with wraps. That should keep us busy for a while. We were hipped to oscillation reps, (which we knew by another name) so we started adding them. Monkey Bars work is amazing though challenging. And we started something else, but that's coming later.
