Sodom and Gomorrah Is Comedy (Part One)

Hey Steemians!

Guys, I'm going to be breaking down Sodom and Gomorrah for you so that you can see it's a comedy routine. Sodom and Gomorrah is really important because it contains the actual comedic structure, which even today is easily identifiable. It contains two internal allusions or callbacks as they're known in comedy. The double entendre by itself can be denied, however, the structure can't be dismissed. It's the structure itself which PROVES this is a comedy routine. When interpreted properly the characters are cast in a whole new light.

This is so important for the LGBTQI community and humanity as a whole, as you'll be able to see quite clearly that the bible is comedy. Though obviously it also contains great insight as well. (Myself I identify as an Empath and one of Jesus's disciples.)

I know that I don't need to tell you guys about the horrific worldwide discrimination against the LGBTQI community. It must stop and the churches must adopt the proper interpretation of scripture.

That's why I'm calling for us all to honour International Anal Sex Day on April 18th. I'd also really like to make this a massive deal for Steemit and to help to promote this platform. ( I'll discuss that in a separate post.)

So today I'm going to go through Genesis 19:1-3 and focus on

  1. Gateway of the city
  2. Bowed down with his face to the ground
  3. Turn aside
  4. Wash your feet.
  • The gateway of the city during the day was where business took place, marriages were arranged and prophets preached. At night the gateway of the city becomes a completely different place. They esentially became red light districts where shady deals happen and prostitutes go to look for customers. So the fact that Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city in the evening implies that he's involved in something shady.

  • bowed down with his face to the ground - this is slang for offering someone anal sex. It's a double entendre. It's completely different from bowing low, which is genuine hospitality. Anal sex would've been the prefered method for prostitutes, both male and female as there was little in the way of contraception. In Jeremiah the description concerning the 'daughter's of Jerusalem' is referring to a political situation where the people are 'getting shafted'.

  • To turn aside is used all the way through the bible. It means to ' take a piss'. There are also loads of references to not turning aside to the left or the right - which means don't piss all over the place, or as we'd say today- don't take the piss! This is why we have the hilarious interaction between Moses and God at the burning bush. God speaks up when Moses is about to urinate on him, because he can't understand why the bush keeps burning- so he decides to see if he can put it out with his pee!

  • You can wash your feet was slang for 'wash your balls'. The word for foot and hand were also slang for penis. It's very silly humour, but we can imagine that men's actual feet would've been dusty, also their balls would've been sweaty.

This is why the angels answer 'No, we will spend the night in the square.'

The audience would've understood exactly what was going on and been howling with laughter. Male prostitutes were young and virile men, not crusty middle aged men with grown up daughters!

However, Lot doesn't give them a choice and bakes them 'bread without yeast' which is the biblical equivalent of Cup-A-Soup. Compare all of this to the proper hospitality that Abraham offers the three visitors in Genesis 18:1-8. Abraham bows low, which is the correct way, is in a respectable place and goes out of his way to have both his wife and servant prepare the guests the finest of meals.
