Silver one ounce bar by U.S.V.I. Ingot Company! / Re-blog lottery for a chance to win 3 HSBI!

Lately I've been sharing a lot of coins I picked up on trips over the years. While those always bring back great memories, they aren't the only thing I like to collect. Thrift stores are always fun to visit and just browse through. You can find just about anything for anyone if you take your time looking for hidden treasures. One thing I tend to buy there are used Legos, you would be surprised what people are willing to pay for old Legos online!

Getting back to the my item of the day, it isn't a Lego, but one of these days I may share a couple of cool finds in that category. This particular item I picked up in a Jewelry store in Long Beach, California several years ago. It was a store I had never visited before but had a sign that stating that they bought gold/ silver. I went in and talked to the owner for awhile and he said I was welcome to look at stuff he recently purchased but hadn't sent off the refinery yet to be melted down. Among them was this little beauty, a one ounce silver bar made by U.S.V.I. Ingot Company. He sold it to me at spot which was really nice of him, but I'm sure he bought it for much less than spot! When I'm in Long Beach I try to make a point to stop by his shop to this day.

U.S.V.I. Ingot Company was around in the early 1980's located in Anaheim, California. Their bars are relatively hard to find anymore as many have been melted down over the years. This one was produced in 1981, and looks a little rough but I still like it. The A-Mark bars were just some of what they produced, but if you ever find one at a good price they are great to collect!

That was my silver find I wanted to share today, although I don't tend to get to attached to one ounce bars this one has enough history that it's one of my favorites. These are a must in most stackers collections, and I haven't seen any others for sale for quite some time now when I drop into coin shops or jewelry stores. They are very collectible!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read over my post. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments feel free to leave them below. Thanks again and have a great day!

And my disclaimer: Gold and silver stacking can be a fun hobby but isn't for everyone. You can lose money. I'm not a financial advisor and this isn't financial advice, please always do your own research before spending your hard earned money.
