Current US market - Not so spooky.

The markets are GREEN for a 5-day win streak. I want to see some RED, please. I want to see more up-and-down day, instead of multi-day streaks.

Sept 13 Option trades

Here are today's option trades:

And

Summary:

  • Rolled BMY covered call out one month and up $1 in strike price for $4 cost (out of pocket).
  • Rolled V covered call out one month and up $5 in strike price for $110 (out of pocket).
  • Rolled V covered call out one month and up $5 in strike price for $91 premium.
  • Open a long call on PLTR. Playing the short-term move for PLTR added to the SP500 index in 2 weeks.

I used the premium from one Visa-covered call to offset the $110 cost to adjust. Ultimately, I can gain $1K in value for a total cost of $20 (out of pocket) today. I believe Visa can continue to move to $300 a share. I would like to see a 10-for-1 stock like all the big boys (NVDA, Microstrategy, and Broadcom). But any split like a 3-for-1 like Walmart would be welcome.

Sometimes you have to do what others are doing to continue to roll with the other stock that is getting all the attention.

Banker's 80-work week.

You must read this article about banker hours.

I don't know if I want anyone to work this much and end up hurting my own body or suffering from mental health. Money is not a "strong" enough motivation to work an 80-hour work week (that might kill you). What is shocking is that you must "cap" the limit at 80 hours because I guess some folks were working 100+ hours a week.

Why don't more people buy assets and build wealth that way? I'm just surprised that only the top 10% of Americans uses this concept, while the rest of the middle class runs the RAT RACE that ends up killing them.

China raising the retirement age.

I was surprised to learn that CHINA has a retirement age of 60 vs USA's 67 (for the majority of people).
China is moving it 3 years for men and at least 3 years for women.

The changes are needed no matter where you live in the world.

The reason is most systems use the working class to pay for the retired folks. In America, we encountered the problem of a growing elderly population with fewer working taxpayers. This is a pattern that will continue as life span expands and the ratio of workers to retirees continues to decline. The issue is we will need to increase taxes and reduce the benefits.

One problem is money taxed (or collected) to be used immediately to pay out the benefits of someone who is already retired. If we earmark the money and invest that money, then we can just pay out the benefits to that individual. This is one reason why some folks want a self-funded option instead of a government-sponsored plan.

Have a profitable day!
