NYC subway crime has been getting worse, robberies on the subway are reportedly up over 70% and there are multiple stories about various individuals being attacked while waiting for trains or entering subway stations etc.

Violent crime has gotten worse for those who are taking the subway system and that has put some people on edge, with many looking to take matters into their own hands for security. Emergency services are not always able to get to you in time when you need them.

NY pepper spray sales have been seeing a boost in demand recently. Though it might not always be easy for everyone to get the product.

With the rise in demand for this item there is also a lot of caution that is urged along with it.

Not only are more individuals opting for pepper spray to feel more empowered to defend themselves if they are targeted but interest for self defense classes has also been on the rise recently too.

One recent poll found that many people want to see more cops in the subways. At least 86% voted in favor of having more cops in these areas.

Subway safety is a top concern for many and there are numerous stories of victimization taking place. That fear of crime is going to keep people away from that transportation option and unfortunately the fear isn't entirely unfounded.
