With CUB opening our eyes to the world of DeFi for a lot of us, you must be wondering what else is out there right now. If you have used CUB, then you're probably familiar with the Binance Smart Chain by now.
PancakeSwap is the biggest yield farm on Binance Smart Chain, so let's look at what they have and how CUB compares in terms of Dens and Pools.
Dens vs Pools
Dens and pools are relatively easy to understand compared to liquidity swap pools. Here, you just have to stake a particular coin and earn a return per block. There are two major differences at the moment between the two platforms.
1. Yields
Yields on Cub Finance are significantly higher than those on PancakeSwap at the moment. You're getting 300% - 500% on Cub Finance vs 110% - 130% on PancakeSwap. The yields on Cub Finance will halve next week, but i expect them to stabilize at the 150% - 220% range, which is still significantly higher than on PancakeSwap.
2. Staked Coin
The other big difference between PancakeSwap and Cub Finance is the staked coin. In Syrup Pools, you stake cake and decide which pool's token to earn. In Cub Dens on the other hand, you stake the pool's token and earn CUB instead.
At this point, the Dens on offer are all major coins. Syrup Pools are producing tons of shitcoins and it's hard to see any use for having that many unnecessary coins.
Conclusion
Given the higher yields and the fact that you stake a proper coin in exchange for the native CUB token, i'm more bullish on the future of CUB Dens as opposed to PancakeSwap's Syrup pools.
