To protect and serve, the last line of defense before all out war.

The local police are the last line of defense in protecting the community from both internal and external threats. They are tasked with addressing corruption within their own ranks and opposing any federal or state agencies if those agencies become corrupt. Their primary duty is to serve and protect the community. However, in the event of an internal conflict, federal authorities might raid state or local police who are upholding the law and the people's interests. If both federal and state agencies are corrupt, they might even work together to raid and remove evidence from local police. Such actions indicate a severe breakdown in the rule of law and a state of conflict within the system. If another country is found to be corrupting federal and state agencies, it would escalate to a serious conflict or even war.
