Pasai Ocean Kingdom is usually better known as the Sultanate of Pasai or Samudera Darussalam. This oldest Islamic kingdom is the first and oldest kingdom in the history of Islam. In addition, the kingdom is located in the coastal area north of the island of Sumatra is more precisely located between the city of Lhokseumawe with North Aceh (now called Geudong)
This kingdom was built after the collapse of the Kingdom of Sriwijaya, precisely built around the 13th century AD. In addition, the Kingdom of Samudera Pasai was also established by the name of Sultan Malik As-Shaleh who before embracing Islam better known as Meurah Silu.
The news about the Pasai Ocean was discovered by a historian from Morocco named Ibn Butatah as he sailed and then he visited the Pasai Kingdom of Samudera in 1345 - 1346. Then Ibn Butatah called him "Sumutrah" or his spelling for the name of the now changing Ocean into Sumatra.
