  1. At Lontar Babad Gajah Maddha it is said that Gajah Mada's parents come from Wilwatikta which is also called Majalangu.
    To the south of "Lemah Surat" lies "Giri Madri" which is said to be close to Wilatikta it is said almost everyday Patni Nariratih returns from Wilwatikta, delivering her husband's food in his dormitory in Giri Madri located south of Wilwatikta. This means that Giri Madri is located south of Lemah Surat and also south of Wilwatikta. The distance between Giri Madri and Wilwatikta is said to be close. But the distance between Lemah Surat and Wilwatikta as well as the direction where the Weak Letters from Wilwatikta not mentioned in Babad Gajah Mada.

  2. Babad Gajah Maddha mentions the birth of Gajah Mada, there is a phrase that reads "On Cri Caka warsa soul mrtta yogi swaha" this sentence is candrasangkala which intends the possibility as follows:
    On Cri Cakawarsa = Happy Saka Year
    Soul = 1 (one)
    mrtta = 2 (Two)
    Yogi = 2 (Two)
    Swaha = 1 (one)
    so means: Happy Year Saka 1221 or year (1299 AD).
    If this were true, then Mahapatih Gajah Mada was born in 1299 AD.

  3. Regarding the name Maddha is mentioned as follows:
    Embarrassed by his teacher, namely: Mpu Ragarunting, as well as the crowds, then after the content of Patni Nariratih enlarged, then invited her by her husband left the dorm to go wandering into the forest and the mountain of silence. Finally one night, when the baby is about to be born, they both head to a village called Maddha located near the foot of Mount Semeru. In that village the Baby was born in "Bale-Agung" in Kahyangan (temple) of the village. The baby was later picked up by a ruler of Maddha village, then taken to Wilwatikta by a patih and then named Maddha. So if so the name Maddha comes from the name of the village of Maddha located at the foot of Mount Semeru. Until now there are several villages at the foot of Mount Semeru indicating the village of Maddha, namely Tamansatriyan, Wirotaman and Kepatihan.

Elephant Name by Babad Gajah Maddha is not mentioned at all. Probably elephant name is a nickname or it could be a title (Abhiseka) name for strong people. Thus Gajah Mada means a strong man from Maddha village.

  1. Regarding the name of Gajah Mada's parents, his father was named Curadharmawyasa and his mother was named Nariratih. After they were both consecrated (pastor) by Mpu Ragarunting in Lemah Surat, their names changed to Curadharmayogi and Patni Nariratih, they both became brahmins.

Gajah Mada died in the year of Saka 1286 (1364 AD) as written in kakawin Negarakertagama pupuh LXXI / 1 which reads: ".... years of sense (1286) he died, the King was moved, even despair, Sang dibyacita Gajah Mada cinta to the neighbor indiscriminately, the conviction that life is not immortal, therefore doing every day ".
Furthermore, if the lontar Babad Gajah Maddha is above true, then Gajah Mada died at the age of 65 years.

As in the Babad Gajah Maddha later mentioned that Patni Nariratih intercourse with Brahma God who changed as her husband so that Gajah Mada as if born on the result of intercourse between Patni Nariratih with God Brahma, will be reviewed on the next article.
