History and Information of Kushtia
Kushtia is one of the districts of Bangladesh. The area of which is 1621.25 square kilometers. The total population of this district is 1946838. Of them, males are 973518, which is 50.01% of the total population and 973320 females, 49.99% of the total population. The population density is 1210 / sq km. The main profession of the district is agriculture. There are also people of all occupations, including business day laborers.
Kushtia district was under the control of Natore zamindar in 1725. In the year 1776, the East India Company included Kushtia in Jessore district. In 1871 Kushtia subdivision with Kumarkhali and Khoksa thanas was included in the Nadia. Originally the Kushtia district came into existence in 1947.
North-west of Kushtia district and Rajshahi, Natore and Pabna districts in the north, Jhenaidah district on the south, Meherpur and Chuadanga districts on the west and Rajbari district on the east.
