On March 29th, global Hallyu contents platform KStarLive announced their new crypto currency, KStarCoin.
KStarLive is Facebook-based Hallyu contents platform. They deliver news related to K-star, including K-pop and K-drama, in English to fans all around the world. Currently, KStarLive is the top Hallyu-related Facebook Page in terms of number of subscriber. They currently have more than 8.36 million users from the Philippines, Indonesia, America, and more.
KStarCoin is an Ethereum-based token, developed by KStarLive. KStarCoin can be obtained from KStarLive's fan community, exchanges, and peer-to-peer transactions.
Hallyu Contents Platform KStarLive is Publishing their Crypto Currency, 'KStarCoin'
The vision of KStarCoin is to become a solution for the payment barriers which Hallyu fans all around the world currently face. Domestic fans could purchase concert tickets through crowdfunding. International fans can also have their favorite Hallyu stars holding concerts and/or fan meeting in their own country.
KStarCoin will also enable fans to easily send birthday / supporting gifts, food or coffee truck to their favorites. Apart from concert, with KStarCoin, fans will be also able to purchase Korean goods such as cosmetics, fashion items, goods, and more.
CEO of KStarLive, Lee Heeyong, said, "With KStarCoin, it will be easier and more comfortable for fans all around the world to be engaged with anything related to Hallyu." He continued, "I believe it will bring new opportunities not only for Hallyu fans, but also for entertainment companies and Hallyu stars."
Meanwhile, KStarLive will be opening the 1st pre-sale of KStarCoin, gathering global investors, starting from this April. During the 1st pre-sale, an additional 25% bonus will be given for every KStarCoin purchase. They plan to start the Crypto Currency exchange in the first half of 2018.
CEO Lee explained, "KStarCoin's exchange will likely to be active since we have gathered more than 8.3 million followers from all over the world. Value of KStarCoin will increase as Hallyu fandom will be able to overcome the problem that most of people and places are still unfamiliar to crypto currency.
