The longest rivers in Indonesia is Kapuas. The longest ones in Java island is Bengawan Solo. But, I don't want to discuss both. I just wanna tell you, this time, about Citarum river.

Why is it must be Citarum? Is it the most important river in Indonesia? No, I don't say that this river is the most important, the most beneficial, or whatever. But, I just wanna express that this one (Citarum) is one example of water channel indonesia that must be maintained. Why? Because currently Citarum river is really apprehensive, in accordance with movement and activity of people who live and work close to the river.

Citarum is the longest river in West Java Province, Indonesia. The length is about 300 kilometers, including the branches. The word "Citarum" consists of two words: Ci that means river and Tarum, a name of plant which produces nila color (like purple). (Source: Wikipedia). By this river, the water flows from Bandung to the border between Karawang and Bekasi.

The condition of this river nowadays is very apprehensive, which becomes a portrait of the surface water management severity in Indonesia (Source: Greenpeace). If I want, I can write about tourism in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, which contains a bunch of positive things inside my country. The question is, why do I like to write about this? Because this is related to environment, and also related to disaster risk reduction, in order to socialize to the people that we have to move on in terms of diaster, from "disaster response" to "mitigation".

So that in the future, I will write all about mitigation, and that related to what happening in Banda Aceh, currently. Because, I think, there are numoerous homeworks that have to be optimized in terms of mitigation.
