Howard Hodgkin (English Howard Hodgkin August 6, 1932, London - March 9, 2017, London) - British painter and graphic artist, one of the most outstanding colorists of his generation. His abstract paintings, often of a small format, are based on real events (usually impressions from meetings with people).
The artist traveled a lot, visited India several times. The artist's passion for decorative curbs and flat color areas reflects admiration for Indian miniature.
