두바이 관광청은 해외 지역에서 여행사를 운영하거나 여행사에서 근무중인 관련 업체 종사자를 대상으로 ‘Dubai Expert’란 온라인 교육 프로그램을 운영 중이다. 프로그램의 취지는 해당 교육을 통해서 더욱 많은 관련업체 종사자들이 두바이를 잘 소개하여 궁극적으로 관광객 증가를 목적으로 한다.
프로그램 수료자에게는 해당 기관 전문가라는 직함을 부여하여 자신을 더욱 특화 할 수 있는 계기를 제공한다. 동 온라인 교육 프로그램은 아래와 같이 3가지 주제로 운영되나 국가별로 프로그램이 제한됨을 주지할 필요가 있다.

불행히도 아래 해당 조건을 보면 한국은 아직 교육 프로그램 대상에 포함되어 있지 않다. 그럼에도 이 내용을 인용한 것은 해당 프로그램에 대한 소개 자체에 의미가 있다고 판단하기 때문이다. 개인적인 의견이지만, 동 프로그램이 가치가 있다고 판단하면 한국의 외교나 관광관련 정부부처에서 해당 기관으로 한국을 교육과정에 포함해 달라고 요청한다면 해결될 수 있지 않을까 란 생각을 해 본다.
