the ups and downs of job hunting

i just came from a final interview a few hours back for this postiion that i am applying for. It was plainly stressful. but that wasn’t the worst part yet. It’s the waiting game that sucks! I’ve been to a handful of interviews in my entire corporate life and each time, i always hate the waiting part. I hate it more than the interview itself. aaarrrggg if only i could ask straight to the interviewer’s face how did i fair, it would have been great, but in our culture, that’s not allowed. That’s being too pushy, too aggressive and for some employers it is a turn-off.

One thing though that i love during an interview, which i could consider its “up” is the grooming part and the trying to look corporate part. it’s one of those very rare moments that i have no choice but to groom myself and look the best i can be. Once in a blue moon, as they say.
Also, i then get a good excuse to indulge on food, esp when i feel i failed. I would have to eat my comfort food to get me thru the rest of the day. it’s one of those “cheat days,” those days when i am allowed to feel down and be depressed.. :-)

whatever it is, job hunting has always been exciting, fun yet terrifying and spine-chilling. But then, if you succeed and get the job that you’ve always wanted, it’s one of the best feelings in the world!
