Caio Terra Out of Worlds Due to an Injury

Caio issued a statement which is as follows, "I got severely injured and won’t be able to compete. My ribs popped and I kept training for one month with so much pain, I couldn’t even play half guard. Then Thursday I started feeling pain in my shoulder; I went to the doctor and found out I had torn a muscle. I can’t even lift my arm up. I didn’t want to make it a big deal. Our team has so many people who have a good chance and I don’t want to be a distraction. The attention should be on them.”

Caio Terra has always been one of my favorite fighters. He is also a very good instructor. I went to one of his seminars where he showed his famous half guard theory. He asked the people in the seminar, "do you want to see more moves or keep working on this move?" Most of the people voted for new moves. (I did not). After the vote, he then said, "that is why most of you will not be good." Many of the people thought he was just being a jerk, but I took that as an important lesson in my Jiu-Jitsu career and that has been a part of my training for years, which is to practice things over and over, making them better and better.
