Passengers' Jeepney - my entry to #vehiclephotography

Jeepney

Jeepneys (Filipino: Dyipni), sometimes called simply jeeps (Filipino: dyip), are the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. They are known for their crowded seating and kitsch decorations, which have become a ubiquitous symbol of Philippine culture and art. A Sarao jeepney was exhibited at the Philippine pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair as a national image for the Filipinos. (Wikipedia)

The picture below is a jeepney in San Fernando City, La Union, Philippines. I shot it while I was standing by, I had to have some fresh air. I was looking after my father in the hospital that time. Part of the hospital can be seen in the background.

Jeepneys can only be seen in the Philippines. It's a lot cheaper so it's more preferred by the public.

Jeepney seen in New York

During the Philippine Independence Day parade in New York in 2016, Apl.de.Ap, a Filipino-American rapper and also a member of the Black Eyed Peas, showed his jeepney to his fans.
