John Zorn - Jazz saxophonist (born 1953)

With John Zorn, we enter the territory of New Jazz, whose features are so diverse and colorful, hardly describable, somewhere between metal and classical settled. I was able to see him live several times, his concerts were always an experience of a different kind. Never was it predictable what would happen on stage in the next second. As a co-founder of "Radical Jewish Culture" he is a controversial figure, but professes his Jewish background. To give an impression, I have selected 3 concerts that cover 20 years of his work.

Mit John Zorn betreten wir das Gebiet des New Jazz, dessen Merkmale so vielfälltig und bunt daherkommen, kaum beschreibbar, irgendwo zwischen Metal und Klassik angesiedelt. Ich konnte ihn mehrmals live erleben, seine Konzerte waren immer ein Erlebnis der etwas anderen Art. Niemals war vorherzusehen was in der nächsten Sekunde auf der Bühne passieren wird. Als Mitbegründer der "Radical Jewish Culture" ist er eine kontroverse Figur, bekennt sich aber zu seiner jüdischen Herkunft. Um einen Eindruck davon zu vermitteln habe ich 3 Konzerte ausgewählt, die 20 Jahre seines Schaffens abdecken.
