N.1 Suicide Spot in Japan

Hi, it's Kay.
Today I'm going to show you the most famous suicide spot in Japan. It's called Aokigahara.

Aokigahara, a forest in Yamanashi Prefecture is located at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
If you look at a distance, it looks beautiful.

But once you enter the forest, it looks a bit dark and horrible.

According to the police, on this spot every year more than 100 people suicide and about 90 % of them are from other prefectures.
( people take the trouble to go there just to suicide)

  1. Year 2006: 115 suicide cases
  2. Year 2007: 126 suicide cases
  3. Year 2008: 161 suicide cases
  4. Year 2009: 195 suicide cases

There are signboards to prevent people from killing themselves.

For example, one of them says..., "Your life is what your parents gave you. Think about calmly about your parents, your brothers and children. Please consult us. You don't have to worry about things all by yourself."

"You can solve your problem with your debt. We have also been able to overcome ours."
(As you can see, people suicide because of their financial problems.)

That's it for today.

[My comment]
Life is beautiful, life is an adventure, life is an voyage, life is a work of art.

I think that way about life.

I like the phrase "Life is beautiful."
It was a phrase Catherine, one of the wives of Henry Ⅷ of England said in the Tudors (TV drama)
just before she was executed in public.

I hope that other Japanese people also can live with a positive attitude.

See you.
