Jaipur The Pink City of India!

Jaipur!

The Pink City of India.

I was always fascinated by this city due to its historical era of rulers living in magnificent forts and palaces. I was always curious to know about the name entitled to the first planned city of india.

So here i found that the reason behind the terracotta-pink colour of the city lies in the historical pages of 1876, Prince Albert and Queen Victoria visited India and, since pink was considered the colour of hospitality at the time, Maharaja Ram Singh had the whole city painted pink to welcome the royal guests. Lord Albert was said to have described Jaipur as the ‘pink city’, hence creating the name Jaipur is known as today.

The hospitality can be seen today also which I realised that the Jaipur’s people are very humble and down to earth always ready to help from chai walas to Hotel Owners, from Guides to Pan walas. They have a feeling of serving and respecting others which could be sensed by their gestures. Hence i would also agree to the quote from Vinita Kinra - “Jaipur is the finest jewelry ever created on earth, where king was the jeweler and bricks his gems.” #jaipur #jaipurtourism #nahargarh #pinkcity #pinkcityjaipur #jaipurcityblog #blog #india #indianphotography #share2steem
