A new island has formed off the coast of North Carolina
It is appeared the tip of Cape Point near the Cape Hatteras lighthouse and it is long about 1 mile and 300 yards wide.
Mark Dowdle, the deputy superintendent of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore told ABC News ,"A large sandbar has formed off the tip of Cape Point and created a new island. It could continue to grow or soon it could be completely gone. We don’t know''
Sharks and large stingrays have been spotted there and there was not good to walk and swim because of it is dangerous current, so do not official consent in there.
Bill Smith, the president of the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association, told ABC News ''it's a great place to get sea shells, and historically, the area has been a good place to fish too''.
Some people are even calling it "Shelly Island."
