It is like Touching a Magazine - iPad Pro Review as an Tablet

IPad Pro should be able to replace a laptop but, it has not been done yet. Surprisingly it does not matter how big it is, it seems that it seems to be rather good compared with other iPads .

The 12.9-inch screen of the iPad Pro is not for everyone like Samsung's 12.3-inch Galaxy Note Pro or HP's 12.3-inch tablet. The fact that it is big is not new in the tablet, but after all, it may be uncomfortable and you may want to shy away. Especially if you do more than to keep it next to a sofa or bed.

Even so, iPad Pro can also be recommended for those who want to use tablets like usual. I will explain the reason for it below.

IOS 9 is designed for larger screens . You can use various functions of iOS 9 successfully with traditional iPad Air and iPad mini, but big screen is far easier to use for picture-in-picture and side-by-side multitasking.

You can see all such things like playing heart stone while checking the previous presidential debate. While reading comics in full size, it is also easy to send email and text messages.

Still, there is still room for improvement in these multitasking functions. The picture in picture mode can not be used with Netflix applications and so on, and full use of multitasking function is limited to Apple apple games mostly. But from now on, the range that can be used will surely widen.

The reason why iPad Pro is better than the previous iPad is not just the size of the screen. There are also four speaker grills, and when you listen to music, you can enjoy rich sounds when viewing Netflix. It is difficult to adjust to an angle that does not get tired even if you look for a long time "unless you buy a stand", but there is nothing more than visual and sound .

But the thing that I like most about iPad Pro is the comfort of reading something. Most of the media is digital, but the iPad Pro may be the easiest-to-use reading machine I've tested so far. When want to read something on a smartphone, it is a series of zooming by pinching. 9.7 inch iPad Air is a little better, but if the size of the text is not adjustable, it is still not perfect. But on iPad Pro, the experience of reading is very luxurious.

I have been in the world of magazines and I love comics so much, so I think that the way the content looks is very important. On the iPad Pro, you can see and read the content as intended by the creator. There is no need to zoom in to read something or see the detail. As a result, you can have the same feeling as reading a magazine, a book or a comic in the form of a street that you made.

In short, iPad Pro loves the sense of reading physical media, but I think that it is the most suitable terminal for those who want to tightly fit even in the digital era.

Compensation for the size

However, it is not only good to have a large display. Some of the apps are not optimized for large screens. For example, Spotify does not even work with iPad Pro. Of course, it can not last forever and I think that it will be updated soon. But, if you are using something that others have not used yet, you will come across these problems.

It does not start up Spotify

Also, there are also applications that are not fully compatible with large displays, so there are also resolution problems. Apple's News application is a good example, overall it's much easier to use than using it on the iPhone, but images with low resolution inserted from other websites are awfully bad when viewed on a big screen. This problem is happening with other applications, and elements on UI such as buttons seem to be just scaled up from small display.

But the biggest problem with the look of the iPad Pro is that the home screen design does not fit that size. The app icons are lined up on a huge screen, and during that time there is a huge dead space. If you use it you will be familiar with it, but I think that it was better for Apple to solve this problem from the beginning with Apple.

But even bigger issues may still be the physical size itself. The tablet was originally designed for carrying and was smaller than the laptop but bigger than the smartphone. But the iPad Pro is the last line that can travel. But since I commute by subway in New York every day, I had a big bag with a 15-inch laptop and I did not have any problem with carrying a 12.9-inch thin tablet. Of course, the iPad Pro is so big that I get tired if I have it for a while. But I think that the merit is bigger than these disadvantages .

So, why not try using it?

I thought that iPad Pro is better than iPad Air 2, unexpectedly. For me, the iPad Air was exquisitely piercing a lengthy halfway point like a short to the band, "It's a bit small to support with an elbow, but I get tired if I have a long time with one hand." But because iPad Pro can swing greatly, it's easy to do it. It's simply big and heavy. I only have to have it like an old clipboard, so it should gradually get used to it while using it.

Nonetheless, it is best to think about how to feel the weight and size, so it is best to first try it at the Apple Store without sudden buying. But for me, as a tablet to take with me when I go out, it was not quite the same as a traditional small iPad.

Should I buy it?

On the whole, the iPad Pro is great as a tablet and it feels so good for work. I think that it will not substitute for a laptop. For most people, it seems like keeping the position of "complementary device that I want but not absolutely necessary " like the previous iPad .

As for iPad Pro, the base part is like the iPad so far, it seems that the sofa side book can be used for multi in the 21st century. However, I think that it is superior to the conventional iPad in that respect. People reading daily magazines, books, or comics as if they are obsessed, but if you want to reduce paper books, you will be able to value worth the price.

But iPad Pro will be better than the current functionality as well. On iOS 10, productivity-enhancing apps will increase more and third parties should update their apps to fit a larger display.

Nonetheless, it costs at least 800 dollars, so most people will feel it is too expensive to be a mere reading device. But if you think you can use it as a sketchbook, the value will be slightly higher. In addition, if you use it as a light substitute for sketchpads or laptops, for example, you can add Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard together and use it.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing how Apple will grow iPad Pro in the future.
