I know of another big social network that started out invite only..
Now obviously this would not be forever, but maybe until we just got out of beta?
Right now we currently 211,677 as of my last Steemd Analysis.

Which means that we could invite whoever we want, but you could only get in if you were invited!
Now if you take 211,677 and just multiplied that by 10 that is 2,116,770, and that is just if we all only got 10 people each.. but imagine the impact it would have knowing it was invite only!
Even if only the Active Users invited 10 people that is still 563,300.
Which is way more growth than we have experienced especially if you look through all of my Steemd Analysis.
So I know that is definitely not the approach that we have been taking, and we could still give away free STEEM, and maybe it could fix the waiting period issue with people we know would bring good content.
