DBMS stands for Database Management System.

It is a Database  + Management System. Collection of data is database and a set of programs to store and retreive data is management system. When they both meet they can be defied as collection of related data and set of program to store , reterive , acccess and modify in an easy way is DBMS.

 What is the need of DBMS? 

DBMS is use to store a large amount of data. Facing a large amount of data there are  two needed ad that are given below

• Storage of data
•  Retrieval of data

Databases are stored in file formats, which contain records. At physical level, the actual data is stored in electromagnetic format on some device. In DBMS the data store in such way that it  acquires lot less space as the redundant data has been removed before storage.  But it can be very helpful in the time of need. 

 Fast Retrieval of data.....

In the process of retrieval of data the data is stored in an organized and modify form. It is important that we can reterive data so quickly when it is needed. DBMS secure that data is retrived so quickly.
