venues like steemit don't value original content. Users can value oc more and steemit is great for that reason because you can choose how to value your votes. It makes curation a performance in a way. Using steemit itself is a performance; votes are exceptionally public. That means competing for space with curators etc like most venues. None of it really correctly values art.
