Tradefractal- Bringing the Basics of Technical Analysis to Crypto Newcomers

Greetings! My name is Richard Johnson, and I’m a full-time trader and the founder of Tradefractal.com. I had my first experience with Bitcoin in 2011, but only been trading full time for a little over six months. My departure from crypto and later return is a long story for another day. For me trading has been a way to replace $500 or $600 dollars a week, and spend a lot more time with my family. No Lambos, no flash, I work my ass of for 12 plus hours a day at this point to make it happen. There is money to be made, but in my experience, it is neither easy, or fast. It feels like the wild west with laptops and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

HODL makes a lot of sense if you got into Bitcoin in the very early stages, and have profit padding the swings, but that philosophy is a disservice to newcomers to the space. How many folks got the HODL mantra in the fall of 2017, and where did it leave them? Some of these folks are now down 80% and ready to abandon cryptocurrency completely. Some sensible swing trading would have saved them a lot of heart ache over the last seven months. Not everyone has the time or ability to trade full-time, but simply holding while an instrument deteriorates 80% borders on irrational. It leaves a catch 22 where we need more widespread adoption to decrease volatility, but the wild volatility discourages widespread adoption.

Long term growth and stability depends on growing the userbase for platforms like Steemit, and other Dapps yet to be discovered. We need the intrinsic value of crypto to be demonstrated by people using the networks, not just holding tokens as speculative investments. At the same time, moving into this market right now without some limited technical analysis and trading skill is ill-advised at best.

Tradefractal.com has been my attempt to address these seemingly opposed issues. I have started production on a series of videos to introduce technical analysis fundamentals to crypto newcomers and I will begin to post those here on Steemit. The first videos are complete and will be posted today. Additionally, I’ll be using my day to day immersion in the market to write some articles that move beyond clickbait and deliver real substance. I hope to help educate newcomers to the space and increase their longevity once they are here.

My videos are introducing the very basics of technical analysis. Once I’ve covered the basics, I’ll start to move into more advanced topics that build on the previous material. This is my opinion, and the way I personally trade. There are a million different strategies and many of them work. This is just what works for me, and I can present it in a way that I hope is understandable. I look forward to feedback from everyone, and I’m excited to be on Steemit. Please be kind, I’m a trader not a videographer. Hopefully my production skills will grow with the platform, and I look forward to becoming an active member of the community and learning how everything works. Have an amazing day!
