I won the 50 SBD and the 30 SBD Steem Poker League back to back.

This is more of my introduceyourself post. I don't know the secret to a win. I do know it takes patience.

I really enjoy the league and the players. I am grateful to have stumbled onto it. I am not very good with technology anymore. I am 5 years post Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). It is very hard for me to do 2 things at once, so I really have to concentrate. When I am able to do that, I do well. If I get distracted or my mood gets bad I make simple mistakes, and in poker that is the difference. All in all, I am elated to find a spot for me to get energies out and feel productive.

There are a lot of interesting styles and players in the League. I try to be patient and learn my opponents. I was pretty good at poker pre injury. My wife Shonna and I lived in California and would drive to Vegas and loved the Venetian. The Venetian had deep stack tournies. We also would hit the Chumash Casino near Santa Barbara, it was closer around an hour or so. We eventually reached the level that we were able to pay for most of our costs when we went to Vegas a couple times a year. Then life hit less than a year after my baby was born in 2012. I worked a dangerous job and my number was up. You walk into a prison for over a decade, it changes you, with or without a badge. Sometimes picking up the pieces takes so long the fragments don't even fit anymore.

Anyway, back to poker, working with the flow of energy is key. It is hard to get motivated or exited when your mental processes are restrained by sleep loss or lack of storage space. One of the hardest things about TBI is the sleep issues. Not getting sleep for a few days is hard, sometimes people like me go months it seems with little good sleep. I don't think in 5 years I've slept adequately.

So if you catch me at the tables, just know I am happy to be here. In life I was lucky to survive and in this space I am lucky that someone made it for me to find. Thank you Dan Larimer?

This is my Family. If you would like to follow my wife @sback, she is the @reluctanthomesteader (My pension is from California and we fear it may be insolvent one day.) Please upvote, donate follow... all that stuff. I don't have a bitcoin wallet or that stuff since it is so hard for me to figure all that out.

She is my caretaker and my ROCK! THANK YOU EVERYONE.
