Preserving Digital Content

I'm new to Crypto Currency, Block Chain, and Steemit in general (so bear with me if my language isn't quite right - I'm still learning!).

I've watched the internet evolve the last 25 - 30 years and am really interested in learning more about how services like Steemit and Block Chain can preserve information as things get more and more de-neutralized and censored online.

I started using the internet back in 1990 on a service called Prodigy. I was a teenager that played online role playing games. What I would give to have access to the data from our games now!!!

I started creating webpages in the days of FreeYellow, Geocities, Egroups and Search.com (before Google in 1997). Most of those free websites have been permanently deleted too. :( Sad.

I've also spent many years creating content for a million Web 2.0 sites like Squidoo, HubPages, ThisNext and a million others that have come and gone. Sometimes the content still exists (on another site, in another format - but most content eventually dies). Then there's social media. I've been on sites like Livejournal before even MySpace existed. And Facebook is like the worst failure as a source of storage of information ever. My father-in-law wrote a song for my daughter when she was 4 and recorded it for her on Facebook. She was too young to appriciate it - but when he died 5 years later we weren't able to retrieve it on his feed/wall/whatever they call it now. How disappointing!!! What a treasure that would be for her now.

I like using the WAY Back machine (https://archive.org/web/) to find information that is no longer readily available but it sounds like Steemit is offering something similar. Can someone help educate me?

I do pay-per-click advertising for a living and I'm really interested in how to integrate Google and Facebook PPC advertising with the Blockchain. I think I need more education before I'll be useful, so if you have examples of how you have used PPC advertising with Crypto Currency or Block Chain services please enlighten me!! I'm sure the possibilities are limitless.
