Hepworth Barbara (English Barbara Hepworth; January 10, 1903, Wakefield, West Yorkshire - May 20, 1975, St. Ives, Cornwall) - English sculptor-abstractionist.

The combination of natural properties of nature with their skillful processing is the harmonic basis of the works of Hepworth. Like her compatriot Henry Moore, she likens her sculptures to pebbles or a musical instrument, making holes in them or pulling strings in a hollow shape. She considered the abstract style of her works to be completely independent and did not associate it with any artistic direction. Becoming the wife of the artist Ben Nicholson, she settled with him in the town of Saint Ives.
