My Life in Voiceover - Temporary Space

You gotta start somewhere, right?

My first several “test” recordings and two auditions were recorded from right here, in the backseat of my Mercury Moutaineer.

backseat
It was actually a pretty cool space. I got the idea for the egg crate screen for the windshield when I was asked by a friend, after listening to one of my recordings,

"So sound reflection from your windshield isn't a problem?"

I had to admit that it wasn't something that I had taken into account. So, armed with Gorilla Glue, a cardboard box, and a roll of eggcrate foam I picked up from a yard sale, I built a screen to cover the inside of my windshield.

It automatically improved the sound quality of the space.

Here is an audition that I did for fun, for a fandub of the animated series, Sonic Boom, based on the Sonic The Hedgehog video game series.

This is my version of Doctor Eggman, Sonic's nemesis from the original Sega Genesis video games of the '90's.

For those that are familiar with the Sonic franchise, Mike Pollock is the current voice of Eggman in the series and video games. Once upon a time, Jim Cummings(Darkwing Duck, the new Winnie The Pooh) played the Doctor. Definitely, a slightly darker Egghead. My version is my tribute to Mr. Cummings. Unfortunately for me, they wanted someone that sounded more like Mike Pollock. But, as I have said;

You gotta start somewhere, RIGHT?
