Hello, Steemit World! Welcome 2020.

Hello, Steemit World!

A new year almost always brings me to discover new and unexplored nooks and crannies of the internet. Today, I found Steemit and it was an unexpected surprise. Partly because I am fascinated by the new and many ways blockchain is being used in everyday life, but mainly because I love writing and enjoy interacting with people online. Finding a space where these two things intersect is a blessing for me. I mean, it really warms my heart to know that there is a space in the internet that marries two of the things that I find joy in.

Struggle

First off, it’s really hard for me to describe myself in these introduceyourself posts; it always freaks me out. I mean, posting my lunch food is easier than having to dig really deep inside to create a memorable post about me. And the alternative of just writing random stuff without any real meaning sucks and won’t be of real value to myself or the platform.

In a way, I am old fashioned in how I approach communication and social media. I prefer posting blogs than vlogs and will choose to post a long article as opposed to 140 character tweets. Luckily, it helps that we have edit buttons here and there so I will give it a go. Also, it makes sense that today is still the New Year, the first week of 2020 and the beginning of the decade.

As it makes sense to have goals, which starts with defining who one is, I will just focus on three things aside from the ones I already mentioned above:

Free Spirit

I look at myself as a free spirit who does unconventional things, but I don’t see myself as a nonconformist. I am a vegetarian which used to be unconventional and cool back in the day. These days everyone and their dog is a vegetarian, vegan and following some sort of plant-based diet, which is still cool and I mean it in the most fun and amorous manner because my dog is vegetarian.

Not an Activist

I worked in the development field for a long time. Helping, partaking, promoting causes does not an activist one become. Confused? Yes, because I am. I mean why does one have to be labeled an activist to espouse environmental concerns or poverty alleviation and whatnot? Why can’t we just call it being people, or good citizens, or just maybe being human? These causes are for the betterment of the race and the planet anyways. Sorry for that, I just wanted to convey that I am just a regular guy who does things because it makes sense to me, because it has social value, and because I have a personal connection or experience with it. That said I’m just a guy who loves vegan chocolate ice cream. Haha.

Love Dogs

I think you already know this. I mean, what’s not to love about dogs. We have five.

Conclusion

To end, I am really grateful for this opportunity to write and to create. Hopefully, I can create more post that will entertain, inspire, or just to help you kill time on a hazy summer day or chilly winter morning.

That’s it for now. All the best to everyone and all!
