A journey of authenticity

My inner superhero: Marguerite Multi-Tool. Otherwise known as, “I've got too many interests to hone in on a single specialty for sharing with the Steemit community!” Not my real hair, by the way…those pics will come in later posts…

As InnerLight, I am on a journey of brightening my inner light and of those around me. What does this mean? I, like many of you, are dealing with psychological issues from childhood on a daily basis, even though it may not be consciously realized. The issues to which I’m referring may include: Perfectionism, being quick to anger, inability to listen to or appreciate others, lack of self-worth, procrastination, attempting to please others, cravings/addiction to food, alcohol, drugs, porn, sex, etc., maintaining a shell as protection from possible emotional harm, having to be right all the time, codependency in relationships, projecting dissatisfaction with ourselves onto the traits of others, and soforth. In life, a person can choose to do two things with these issues: ignore/deny/stay asleep, or face them with courage and curiosity, working to transform toxic thinking and behavior to a more positive, content, authentic existence.

Some ways that I go about brightening the light within include:

  1. Eating the world's healthiest foods and practicing other healthy habits, like meditation, yoga , dancing, regular exercise and excursions in the woods
  2. Reading, contemplating, discussing, and working through various books on self-exploration
  3. Developing a more positive attitude, appreciating the little things (like the birds at my feeder right now), finding others who are positive and are also working on self-improvement

Through the Steemit community, I hope to share and learn in the following areas:

  1. Self-development, practicing contentment & positivity – it’s going to get pretty down and grubby authentic here…and I invite you to join me if you dare!
  2. WFPB (whole food plant based) nutrition: the healthiest way of eating on Earth, as evidenced by GOOD science; freeing ourselves from food cravings/addiction
  3. Wildharvesting, wildcrafting, gardening, homesteading how-to
  4. Wilderness hiking/camping logs (mostly in Montana, which is my home)
  5. Botany geek stuff…sketches, photos, species monologues
  6. A fantasy novel and a couple of kids’ books I’m writing (weekly chapter postings would provide me motivation finish them!)

I realize that posting on multiple topic areas might not fly in the Steemit community, so I may let your interests sway me toward some sort of focus down the road. Please let me know in your comments below what areas (1-6 above) would be of most interest to you.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the day!
