Finally 'have summoned courage to make my Introduction Post. My name is ID UNIQUE, 'am new in this wonderful community and I think it's cool if I introduce myself. Few weeks ago, mother steem was delivered of a bouncing baby Steemian, and that's Me. Being a toddler in the community, I have been trying to gain a little stamina before joining the community proper(Writing posts). I got weaned from her lactating arms at the wee hours of yesterday, so I decided to make this introductory scribbling of mine.

How I knew about STEEMIT

A Tanzanian adage says

to be without a friend is to be poor indeed

I was introduced into this awesome community through the bluewaves project spear headed by @ogochukwu. One of the pioneers of the project @gunneresq had met me drafting an article for publication that rainy morning. He gave me a smirk after running his eyes through my paper with the flair of an avid reader. With a soft pat on my back, he said motionlessly "I have something for you ID, you deserve a better platform for your publications." I wish this boy would be serious for once, I thought, taking his remark with a pinch of salt. He embraced silence afterwards. I could sense an unusual seriousness in his grin as he ran his thumb on his mobile screen. He motioned me to come closer, that was how he Armed me with information about STEEMIT.

Where I come From.

"I am proud of where I come from and never forget the people I grew up with." --Zinedine Zidane

I am from the southern part of Nigeria, Akwa-ibom state. When I was smaller, I leant the state's Slogan is "the land of promise," making me feel proud of my origin. "Maybe we are the real children of Israel" I whispered to the air with every sense of pride. I remember Dad motioning to the top right corner of "The Pilot Newspaper" that windy morning, drawing my attention to the caption "Philip Effiong Deserves to be Recognized as a hero." Dad said he was an Akwa-ibom man, the one that was there to Surrender to the Nigeria Forces during the protracted Civil War, in order to save lives, after Ojukwu fled to Ivory Coast to seek asylum. I felt chills in my pores, my brows twitched and an unknown voice saying "you are lucky to come from Akwa-ibom, the oil bank of Nigeria," my smiles knew no bounds. My kindergarten days was in Uyo, the capital city. My mother's tongue is "efik-ibibio" language.

Life in The East

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."--Augustine of Hippo.

After my kindergarten, Dad got a Job in the East(Anambra). We relocated and I continued my education there. Growing up in the east was a scintillating experience. Dad told me how careful I should be anytime I stepped my feet in Onitsha. I've read about the popular Onitsha town and it's frenzy. I remember Mama Nkeshi our Neighbour warning Emeka his son not to join Onitsha boys in their smelly dealings, advising him to focus on his Oga's trade. She squeezed out time to gist him how Ndi agboro(hoodlums) prey on unsuspecting members of the public and made away with their belongings in a broad day light.
Ndi igbo are very industrious, hospitable and conscious of their culture. The OFALA festival and Iri ji(new yam festival ) in igbo land is always a sight to behold. The red cap Chiefs(Ndi Ozo) grace the occasion with their regalia, adding colourful sparks to the festivities. The spinning moves of the ijele Masquerade leaves the eyes longing for more. I would later grow up to find out that the Igbos can be found almost in every part of the world. Myths has it that the ancestral father of the Igbos is Eri, and their ancestral home is Nri. Today, my lexical weaponry has gained unimagined height. My tongue licks Igbo language with the confidence of a butcher disecting his meat, that's the beauty of exploring beyond borders.

My Hobby

"The only insult I've ever received in my adult life was when someone asked me, "Do you have a hobby?"__John Waters

Growing up in Anambra, I had a flair for the round leather game(Football). We Played on a grassless lawn, Just behind St Peter's Secondary school. With the rise of every Dawn, My bare feet grew numb to the blistering earth. Mr Okeke a cobbler, who always came around to watch us play , grew fond of my raw talent and bought me a pair of adidas inscribed boots. My friends call me "Aguero" because of our semblance in stature, so I joined "Zion Defenders Football Academy". It didn't take me long to win the admiration of Mr Blake, an English man and our coach. I netted my first goal on my debut match after our coach substituted injured "Zaki" at the 79th minute. It was a volley with my outside foot, after the defender missed clearing the ball from his goal area. Goal! The fans screamed. How great it felt to have the fans chant my name. I would later become the leading goal scorer of the year. Scoring 9 goals in 7 matches.

My Profession

"Everyone wants to say they hate lawyers, and yet I've never met a parent who didn't want their kid to be a lawyer." -Jessi Klein.

Nature in pouring her magnanimity, also blessed me with logicality and Craving for Justice. The Legal profession Was The only place I wanted to be. My hunger to assuage the injustice forced down the throat of the poor has been the fuel powering my engine. So I wrote the qualifying or trial exams, as fate may have it, I was admitted to The Prestigious UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA to further my Law Degree program. It's been Legal till now.

Why I Joined Steemit

Classical-1.jpg

As a budding writer, socio-political analyst and Relationship consultant, I have always wished for a better platform with audience who do not only take pleasure in consuming my articles and views, but also criticise constructively, post their own stories and allow the knowledge to keep flowing like a spring. That's the drive behind pitching my tent with the STEEMit community, any other thing is a bonus.
