My name is Bill, I’ve been a fan of political humor/satire for ages, and my intention as a Steemer is to create it and relate it, to the best of my abilities, for my enjoyment and hopefully for the enjoyment of others.
My Mission: Speaking FICTION to Power
My Core Belief (regarding this): Speaking TRUTH to power is an honorable endeavor, and essential to the maintenance of the rights and freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution. But that’s not me. I’m a true believer in humor’s unique potential to serve up truth in acceptable doses. Humor with a truth chaser, if you will. I believe speaking FICTION to power can have an impact too, and it’s much more fun.
My Target: Anyone in power, especially anyone in power who speaks FICTION to us. (Their job is to stick to the TRUTH side of things.)
My credentials? I don't really have any - other than the fact that I did, once, truly speak fiction to Power. By that I mean I spoke by phone to the most powerful man in the world (at the time) all the while pretending to be my fictional character. But that’s another story, a long story, probably too long for Steemit.
I am currently working in a few political humor/satire modes (below) and I can't wait to get started here.

Now, since I am unsure of my footing in this Steemit terrain, I plan to make very plain that my intentions here are primarily humorous, and what I may express in a “factually fictional” way is, in modern parlance, fake. For instance, if I were to write: “anonymous White House sources revealed today” you may rest assured that nothing of that sort actually happened. I’m not entirely sure how to do this; I will probably cite this introductory post as an explanation of what fiction-to-power is up to.
Anyway, I’m VERY excited to get started on Steemit!
