About me

hey reader! i'm super stoked to finally put together "about me" article! so let's get into it.

i certainly cannot proceed without giving a credit of gratitude to @bluabaleno who introduced me to steemit a while ago. having distanced from tech world while going all in to the coffee realms i soon found out how much i was missing out on. big man showed straight forward way to understanding steemit and advantages of it for creators and such!

looking back it's interesting to see how much i've been on this rollercoaster that seems to not have any ending and each bump and curve is just a beginning of another one.
anyhow, i'm born and raised in lithuania, quite a country with reputation in basketball, great beer and some of the fastest internet connection in the world (go torrent!).

tech and sports were those two pillars that drove me forward till i made my decision to move to denmark soon after high school. that's probably where i found out most about myself, yet world. changing from one university to another and indecisively pledging to graduate one, i was more often than not feeling lost and confused. with that probably where my biggest interests emerged. sleepless nights and hustling days weren't gonna go through without immense amounts of caffeine.

i found great passion for specialty coffee and wanted to take it to another level. so i started attending coffee tastings, classes, etc. since it's a market that's not too populated and folks behind it range from funky hipsters to preachers of whole new coffee drinking sensations, at that point i knew i could totally fall into one of these labels.
that's what triggered to board a plane and move from a chilly yet hyggelig denmark and explore what south of europe got up its sleeve. and here i am nerding out with coffee peps from 7g, ccl, fabrica and most importantly @theblockcafe in lisbon.

aformentioned venue is where i live mentally and spend time daily. it's a hidden crypto gem in the very central part of lisbon. you're not gonna spot it from outside, instead you have to look for it. anyone with experience of knowing a place that's not obvious can tell that what you get is more important than what you see. it's not a cowork space (yet it is), it's not a cafe (yet it is), but the two negations make it what we call a "work cafe". with specialty coffee, an internet to slash the space and community that will take no ICOs for granted.

on a professional side, i align a few specialties side to side. as much as either of them can be given pursuit, the others ultimately cannot be left out. what i would consider my strong interest/experience/trait is the coffee (yet a long way to perfection) and what comes with it - should that be the science behind it, technology behind and (especially) people's factor behind it. what do i do about it? i started writing about coffee (and will start doing so over here too!) with my first article out there in the largest online coffee magazine in europe (https://europeancoffeetrip.com/7-gaia-roaster-apartments/). yet, it's shortly coming along a project with AeroPress. just a way of brewing your cup of Joe. not gonna go too coffe-scientific about it, yet.
digital marketing. fairly new for me, not related to my uni degree (BSc in global business informatics) yet exciting to learn about. researching on what's gonna trigger your attention more over the other attractions and what you'd consider relevant over spam is what practically i challenge myself at. having a diverse network at the block, a legitimate feedback is instantaneous - you know who to ask, you know what to ask and most importantly you know they know the answer. it's a place where things just work!
photography. i was hanging onto this one for quite a while now. didn't get crazy good, but i consider myself way past point-and-shoot stage and it's not about taking a snap dozens of times and selecting one that's OK, it's rather composing it a number of times so one shot is enough to satisfy your expectations. it's not without having done former in the early days to find that out. pretty much like practicing hoops on a basketball court to get that muscle memory. got my content spread out all around. ain't a clickbait but a reference to one of my photography sources (www.dranginis.lt)

on a personal side, i'm a terrible time planner and amazing procrastinator. it's often due to lack of motivation, no incentives in doing it or some kind of gain in doing it. however, when i manage to move up over that ridge of distractions, i can spend countless hours, days even just to get something done i am passionate about!

i hope i'll come across likeminded readers, creators and curators so we can share such interests 'n' stuff! if not, i am certain, i will learn just as much from professionals in fields i am yet to discover!

cheers!
