Introduction to My Singularity on Steemit

Greetings & Salutations,

I am extremely excited about the very first blog for My Singularity.  It has been something that I have wanted to do for a few years now and I am so happy to be involved with Steemit and the endless possibilities that this venue has to offer.  Ive decided to keep this first one as a simple introduction of myself and what my goals are for the future.  My hopes are to start a conversation with those that are unfamiliar with Transhumanism, share ideas of the future, and find likeminded people that are willing to teach as well as listen.

I currently live out in the sticks of Kentucky, but I recently moved here from Biloxi, Mississippi.  I have held many different jobs in my 41 years and seen many different places.  I finished my 4 in the USAF in ’98, then I started a small business in Indiana.  After a couple of years, I sold that and made a ton of money! I used that money to buy a bar and quickly went bankrupt (two of the best years i’l never remember).  Lets see, I have climbed radio towers in Pennsylvania, I have been a maintenance tech for a chemical company in Nebraska, a retail store supervisor in North Carolina, I worked in a massage parlor in Southern Florida, and (one of my favorites) the lead singer of a blues band!

My last stint as a nomad had led me to Biloxi, Mississippi four years ago where I got on with one of the major casinos in the area as a Baccarat dealer.  I was having fun and making very good money.  Oh, I forgot to mention that I am (was) a “motorcycle enthusiast.  So while your picturing someone with all those random jobs across the country, know that I was on a motorcycle the majority of the time.  I actually have not owned a car for the last 10 years of my life.  Anyone that rides a lot knows that at some point things are going to go awry, it happened to me in April of 2015.  I sustained some serious injuries, the worst of which was my right arm and hand being permanently damaged.  Needless to say, I could no longer continue my services as a casino dealer.

I keep my chin up and know that life is beautiful and I enjoy living; I plan to do it for a very long time.  Now I am a full time college student in my senior year studying Natural Science.  My goal is to become a synthetic biologist and save the world (one handed, just for dramatic effect).  I am an active transhumanist and will continuously direct this blog toward new technologies that are relevant to the conversation.  Put simply, Transhumanism it is the belief that any future of human kind no longer relies on darwinian evolution.  For the first time, our species can evolve ourselves using technology and science.  Its a bold new world, don't fear the future, be the future!

I will be posting articles and opinion pieces over new technologies and the teams that are involved in their creation.  I hope you will join me for this fantastic journey that changes the world every day.  Thank you so much for your time, and I hope to hear from many people in the future.

Sincerely,

Stephen C. Jamison
