German / Spanish Guy Entering The Gateway To Another World - STEEM! #Introduceyourself

How are you my fellow Steemians?

Several Facebook groups made me aware of the steemit community, which is why I decided to give it a closer look - super excited!

My name is Dennis, I am half German & half Spanish and currently 21 years old.
My main passions include:

  • Music production / Sound engineering - Ableton kid all the way!
  • Blockchain
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Football (soccer)
  • Exploring new cultures - such as the steem culture ;)
  • Investments / Trading

During the past years I have lived in the following cities:

  • Hannover, Germany (1 year)
  • Berlin, Germany (6 years)
  • Hamburg, Germany (9 years)
  • Pretoria, South Africa (3 years)
  • Medellin, Colombia (3 months) - absolutely LOVE this place
  • Cape Town, South Africa (2 years)
  • Mexico City, Mexico (7 months)

I consider myself a Multipotentialite and throughout this past year I have increasingly become interested in the Cryptoworld. After having forgotten about bitcoin and the blockchain idea, I got reintroduced to it end of last year through some friends from San Francisco who were increasingly promoting the idea of a decentralised network and the platform that ethereum and similar concepts provide.

EDUCATION

From University of Cape Town to Minerva Schools at KGI (San Francisco)

While I have always loved travelling and exploring cultures (which got sparked in me after moving from Germany to South Africa at the age of 16), I always considered my future plans to be quite planned out and solid. By December 2016 I was studying a Bachelor of Business Science specializing in Finance at the University of Cape Town. My plan was to finish my 4 years of undergraduate studies and take the exams to become a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
Everything was going according to my plan until I got introduced to and accepted at the following University: Minerva Schools at KGI

Minerva is an innovative San Francisco "Startup" University aiming at challenging the Higher Education Elite - Ivy League. (Acceptance Rate: 1.9%)
It's interesting concept will enable me and my fellow students to study in the following cities:

  • San Francisco, USA (2 Semester)
  • Seoul, South Korea (1 Semester)
  • Hyderabad, India (1 Semester)
  • Berlin, Germany (1 Semester)
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina (1 Semester)
  • London, England (1 Semester)
  • Taipei, Taiwan (1 Semester)

I will write a more detailed article about the great thing that is Minerva, but for know if you are interested in finding out more about the school, you can read up on it on the following links:

Work & Projects

Due to the change in schools, I decided to freshen up my spanish and move to Mexico City to work at EY Mexico until my journey takes me to San Francisco. (Yesterday I actually had my last day of work at EY - amazing company)

Besides having experienced the corporate world a little more in depth, I am currently working on a music project called Silver Kukus. Shoutout to @madisonpark for being an awesome partner and songwriter (One of the best pianists I know).

We launched our first few songs under this name throughout the past weeks, with a Remix Cover Production of the Justin Bieber Despacito Remix being our first offical production as a team. We worked on this song with Youtuber and Musician David from Future Sunsets. The video reached over 100K views within a few days, leading to us reaching around 14K followers on Facebook. (https://www.facebook.com/silverkukus/)

You can check out the song here:

(more details about the music project will come soon)

Besides Music, I am currently working on perfectioning a subscription based digital artwork service. It can be found here: http://www.avoplanet.com. While the beta version of the website is up and running, the service will be launched officially towards the end of the month.
