Before I introduce myself, let me wish wish all Hindu Steemians a Happy Deepavali (this image greetings with fire crackers because last night my housing area (probably same goes to most part of Klang Valley) was 'bomb' incessantly for almost an hour when midnight approaches.
Yeah, the above title basically sums up what I do for a living & enjoy doing in my free time :-P
Hi Steemians, I'm Melvin Lim, my Chinese name is Hong Yeow. Since young, I've always love $$ & thought one day I could be famous & popular like our local Malaysian .
Unfortunately, dream remains a dream. Far from being popular & rich like the co-founder of Hong Leong Bank, Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan. I'm already 41 now but still remains a small time potato entrepreneur, "selling" Malaysian Skill Certificate (more well known as Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia - SKM) since 2001. If you're unaware yet, SKM is a MANDATORY certificate for certain trades like automotive workshops & beauty/hair salons, else you may not be able to apply for your local premise license.

Over the years, my Accredited Training centre (I Smart Educare) has produced over a thousand qualified Vocational Training Officers (VTO) in various trades, ranging from the above 2 trades to culinary, pastry & bakery, hospitality & tourism, electrical & electronics etc.
So if you are an experience personnel with skills interested to be certified with the SKM or just be like Master Yoda (with certified certificate), just whatsapp/call me at 012-3123430 or email me at ismarteducare@gmail.com. Perhaps you may want to read up a little bit here first, http://jpkmalaysia.com/. With governments focus & huge budgets for Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET), come & explore the opportunities with me.
I've another business, distributing baby products but let's leave it aside first for now.

I've been active in sports since school days, playing various sports like badminton, voleyball, basketball, table tennis, football, fencing & picked up another 3 sports in University (UPM), namely squash, tennis & running. However, was like Jack of All Trades, Master of none. Only had some minor achievements in squash & running, winning some plastic trophies.
Like most Malaysians, I stop playing all those sports actively after stepping into the working world. Not till 2010 when I picked up running again. As usual, nothing much to shout about on my achievements till this year where I managed to be on podium for 11 out of 13 races joined under the Old Man Category@Men Junior Veteran. Am still not considered an elite cause most of the races joined offer top 10 prizes & I'm usually in the bottom half:-P
This is my most recent & best achievement so far (in terms of prize value, winning a pair of Newton shoes & socks worth almost RM600), coming in 3rd in Newton Challenge 2017 15km Men Veteran category just last weekend.
Why I now mainly pursue running?
Everyone run for a different reason. To slim down is definitely not mine as I'm already almost like this.

I run because it's a healthy, inexpensive sports & can run almost anywhere, anytime. You may even run barefoot & save the money to buy socks & shoes like some sifu barefoot runners! Also get to meet lots of new friends.
Where I train?
My usual training ground, in order of frequency:
- Taman Botani FRIM
- Taman Metropolitan Kepong@Taman Layang-Layang Kepong
- Lake Garden
- Desa Park City
Welcome to join me & my running friends if you do happen to work/stay around those areas or if you intend to start running to keep yourself healthy.
I've ran in many places like beaches & trails but this is the most exciting & adventurous one, running at Taman Alam Kuala Selangor & had some road block along the trail
That's all for now fellow Steemians, hope didn't bored you with my mundane introduction.
