An Anecdote of a Hive Tenderfoot

Lo and behold! A magnificent day to all of you Hivers! This is my first-ever blog and I can't wait to share a lot more with all of you! First off, let me acquaint myself. My name is Jian, I am twenty-five, a Licensed Professional Teacher by profession, a Corporate Slave by choice, a mother of one, a sister, a daughter, and a friend to everyone.

Hailing from the heart of the Queen City of the South, I was born and raised in the heart of Cebu City and taken care of by people closest to my heart, my people, and my family. Then, after a few years, my parents bought some properties in our hometown in Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu. Up until the present, we are staying in the house that they provided for us.

As a daughter

Growing up, I did not have that typical family setup. I had this so-called "broken family" that most people would normally call it. But, never was a time I felt that. Never was a time I felt that there was a missing piece. My parents, my mother, and my stepfather, always made sure to provide me with all that I need and all that I want. What more could I possibly ask for?

Back when I was four, I had my first ever international trip to Germany. It was a quick two-month visit to my dad's hometown where I got to experience their culture and lifestyle. It was indeed one of the most unforgettable trips that I would always love to take a trip down memory lane. The experience I had is truly amazing and life-changing.

Most of my childhood days were spent traveling all over the country. I have been to several destinations and been to different tourist spots and places. I have visited Bohol, Malapascua, Palawan, Bantayan Island, Banaue Rice Terraces, and so much more. Traveling is indeed always one for the books. I am grateful for my parents they shape me in a world where I get to experience the beauty and wonders of life- through traveling.

I knew I lived my best life because I pursued my basic education, high school, and college years at prestigious schools in Bogo City, a neighboring city in the town where we lived. I always graduated with flying colors back then. I always had the urge to do my best in all that I do - especially in my studies.

I have always had this mindset that failure will never be an option for me. That is one of the reasons why I grew up to be a very competitive person. I always crave success in all that I do.

I finally graduated college. I took up a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. I also passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers last October 2022 on my first take. I can indeed say that I am so proud of myself and my accomplishments. I am more than far from what I aim in life, but I am, getting there.

Now that I am a young adult myself, busy at my corporate job, during my days off at work, I make sure to spend a day at the beach, wander, unwind, refresh, and recharge myself. We all know how a trip to the beach can be very therapeutic.

I also have my soul sisters and soul brothers whom I share my faith with. I joined The Hope Avenue. My worship group. Hope Avenue was founded in Bogo City by my elementary classmate back then. It is an avenue for all people to share faith and worship regardless of whatever religion they have. We have prayer meetings Friday of each week. We share life lessons, stories, victories, losses, and most of all we share wisdom with everyone in the bunch.

I find it a relief to be able to find people who keep up the same faith the same as I have. The Hope Avenue is perfect for everyone who loves to worship God, sing unending praises, and never gets tired of sharing stories of how amazing He is.

It was one hell of a ride in my twenty-five years here in this beautiful world, a life full of bumps and twists, a life lived carefree with so much good and bad turns. But at the end of the day, we all come home to family. I will always and forever be grateful to my parents for giving me this life that I had.

Before I end this little anecdote of mine, let me tell you about my life's biggest plot twist. My son, my little ray of sunshine, Jacob. I had him when I was seventeen. Now I am twenty-five and he is eight. How time flies so fast, right?

If I have something I never regret having in my life, is to have my son. My little ray of sunshine is the reason I always keep my faith and resilience. I have this one person who looks up at me. I have a reason to continue. I love him with all of my heart. I will never trade him for anything in this world.

I will always live by Isaiah 60:22, "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen." This is a beautiful reminder that we all have different time frames in life. We must never rush, never stress out, and most importantly, we must never compare. Our chapter one may be someone else's chapter ten. But, our chapter ten may be someone else's chapter one.

We all bloom differently, and we all have our separate times. I always put in mind that life is meant to be enjoyed. There is no point in stressing over things that we do not have control over. We must live our lives to the fullest!

My Hobbies

During my early adolescence stage, I spent most of my days at home. Writing stories, composing poems, daydreaming and mostly boosting my imagination. I also thank my parents for buying me a lot of storybooks and crossword puzzles back then. Those are the things I loved so much back then. But until now, of course! Nothing compares.

I love photography so much. So when I first heard about Hive, it caught my attention and I know this is the perfect place for me to extend and share my experiences and little joys in life.

Why am I Here?

My sincere gratitude to @naymhapz, my former English teacher, for introducing me to this platform. She taught me all the rules and regulations, what I have to do, and what I mustn’t do. I can see that she is really into what she does. I saw how much she loves blogging, and I am very inspired to learn how blogging changed her life. I can’t wait to experience my own blogging success story soon. I see myself growing here. I am thrilled to write more blogs! Until then.

What Can Hive Expect From Me?

Joining Hive made me realize that writing can be a fun thing to do. It's been a long time since I stopped my passion, writing because I got so busy with my current corporate job but being introduced to Hive gave me an eagerness to go back to what I have always loved since I was younger - writing.

Writing a blog excites me each day. It broadens my imagination and it allows me to share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences with all the people in the world. Rest assured, I will be blogging more about my travels, experiences, and adventures. I can't wait to share with you all about my adventures. I am so excited to tell you more about me.

See you soon!
