this is our weekly interview post. We want to sharpen your senses for HIVE musicians, that´s why we made it our goal to interview a new musician every week.
There are a tremendous amount of very talented musicians on our HIVE Blockchain. Too many of them are going unnoticed. We at HMVF and Blocktunes are here to change that. Our interview series will let you get a look behind the curtain of some of these artists. Their music, their process, and their goals. Let us come together to support the music of HIVE.
Of course these posts will also have the purpose of collecting funds for HMVF, to be able to create as many music videos for these awesome artists as possible. 🎵

This week´s musician is Jason Langvee / LANG|V Music (@langvmusic)
Jason Langvee is a Canadian composer, songwriter, producer and artist and part of the Rising Star and AtomCollector Records community.

First off, how did the artist name LANG|V Music come about?
I have been a lifelong musician, with ebbs and flows in both playing and writing. From the age of ten until about eighteen years, retrospectively I spent my 10,000 hours in various ways mastering what music was to me. From the ages of nineteen until twenty-five, I really left the thinking that my music was in any way worthwhile. In that time, I listened and experienced a lot of others’ music and art. For me, it became obvious by twenty-six that music, for me at least, is a profound way to communicate. Moreover, it is a way to communicate emotion - which I have always struggled with. Now, music creation is the best form of therapy I have found to understand more of myself, others, and the world we all share.
How would you describe your sound?
The answer to this question has evolved significantly over time. I am fortunate to be working on a new album release sometime in the coming months - and on that album - genres are not fully adhered to. The A-side will be comprised of 4 tunes in the Blues, Funk and Jazz world with influence from pop music as well. The B-side, will explore the electronic side of music with more hip hop and spoken word, along with some amazing production from around the world. EDM, Dance, Dub-Step, Drum & Bass… all will be attempted.
Which artists have had the greatest influence on you?
In no particular order; Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Tom Waits, Deadmau5, Kygo, Avicii, Van Halen, John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, and my dad.
What is your songwriting process? How does a song come together for LANG|V Music?
Over my time writing, producing, mixing, mastering, and performing I have come to one conclusion… no two songs come about the same way. Sometimes words turn to poems, which turn into lyrics. Sometimes notes turn to chords, which turn into progressions. Sometimes, a friend reaches out with something you never expected, and that draws something new from you. These days - I try to be open to that process however it unfolds.
What do you hope that the listener takes away from your music?
Feeling. I know my notes are never perfect. That may even be the point these days. What I want anyone listening to music I have helped craft - is to feel something. Anything.
How do you think being a part of the Hive blockchain will help your music career?
I mentioned that some songs come from friends reaching out. Hive has brought those amazing, creative, hard-working, and driven friends from around the world, into my life. That has already helped me in life. Music for me is not a career, so I have already garnered all I could ever need from this amazing community!
Share a tip for other hard-working artists out there searching for success in the new music industry?
Say yes to as many opportunities to work with others as possible. Most projects will never end where you thought when you began - but that is the whole point of living. The chaos that comes from sharing ideas with likeminded artists keeps your passion burning hotter and hotter.
What does the future hold for LANG|V Music?
Expect BIG THINGS very soon. I am immensely fortunate to be working with CollabHaven Records towards a long-list of collaborations, along with my sophomore album coming as soon as we work through our final mastering sessions this month!
