In my experience of life (I'm 21) I've learned that really intelligent people are rare and seldom found around. Their common signs of intelligence are:
1. Honest and Brutual with what they don't know
Many people pretend they understand something that they don’t know, while nodding their heads meaninglessly. They do this because they don’t want to appear uninformed and unknowing.
2. Ability of explaining their crafts
Learning and explaining are two different modes of knowledge. Many people are good at learning but not at explaining it to others. This is because they actually aren't aware of the stages of learning. Intelligent ones possess good knowledge about the stages of learning.
Albert Einstein is well-known for saying the following quote:
“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
This clearly depicts the fact that a person must have to be able to demonstrate his knowledge to others, unless he himself doesn't know it well!
3. Time spent without info or joy is Time Wasted
Instead of talking about a random sports or celebrity, they focus on what's important. To them, information less gossip is a waste of time. They proactively listen to others and digest what was said before explaining their counter-argument. They hit strong ideas and hypotheses in their minds. In short, they shamelessly focus on what’s important.
