101 Ways to happiness - #76 Your toughts are the window to the world

Mindset is like the mental glasses through which we observe the world around us. Some people see the world through the pink glasses, and the other through dimmed.

The main thought a person with a negative mental attitude thinks goes like this: "I can't do this," he or she focuses only on problems, looks mainly for mistakes in people and focuses only on what he or she is lacking. For them, there is not a lot of bright lights, at the end of the tunnel of problems, but only restrictions, and darkness.

On the other hand, the person with a positive attitude toward life is living with the thought "I can do it." He or she focuses on solutions, seeks good characteristics in people, devote themselves to their gifts, and see possibilities and options on every step of the way.

If I go back to the mental attitude, which I mentioned, are your window into the world... In the beginning, each window is clean. For instance - the kids are positively thought-oriented. They have a clean mental window, they all feel wonderful and love to explore the world around you. With time the life begins to throw dirt into their windows. Their windows are starting to be sprinkled with criticism from parents and teachers. It is obscured by the mockery of peers. It's smeared with refusals, disappointments, and doubts. The window is sprinkled with the mud of negativism. Dirt accumulates, people lose enthusiasm, become disappointed and depressed, give up their dreams.

Just wash your window, and everything will change! In order to see the world again, we need to change our attitude towards it. We become more confident and notice how wonderful the life offers us. Your task is simply just to clean your window. You always have the option of choosing. You can leave the dirt on the glass and watch the world through it. However, in this case, you have to face the consequences. You will continue to experience disappointment, and you will only achieve a fraction of what you are capable of.

When you clean your window, your life will be brighter and sunnier. You will be healthier and happier. You will set ambitious goals and realize them. Think about what I wrote, and read the final thought I borrowed from famous William Shakespeare:

Nothing is good or bad in itself; everything depends on our thinking.
