Greasy Pole Climbing Contest, Tradition of Indonesian Independence Day which is Almost Extinct

Good night buddy steemian everything ,,,
Tonight I will discuss the kind of tradition that is almost extinct on the day of Indonesian independence.
one of them in my view that is Greasy Pole Climbing Contest.

Indonesia's independence day on August 17 is always synonymous with flag ceremonies and various kinds of celebrations and competitions, such as race and people's stage. The activity has become a tradition that is always awaited and held in all regions in Indonesia every year.

However, as the times progressed, the celebrations gradually began to feel lonely and some even became almost extinct ..

Though formerly Greasy Pole Climbing Contest is the most popular race in all regions. How to play is also simple, just by using betel nuts that have been lubricated lubricants to slippery and at the top of the areca nut is hung with a number of attractive prizes. Participants must climb the betel tree and try to take the gift that has been hanging on it.

However, during this modern era, I have been rare to see the event on the anniversary of the Independence Day of Indonesia, very different from 10 years ago, when I was 14 years old.
