Ingredients (240 ml cup used)
. 1 cup paneer cubes
. 2 cups palak (tightly packed)
. 2-3 green chilles
. 1/2 cup tomatoes
. 3/4 cup chopped onions
. 1/4 tsp kasuri methi
. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
. 1/4 to 1/2 tsp garam masala
. 1/4 tsp cumin powder
. 1 inch cinnamon stick
. 1 tsp garlic ginger paste
. 1/8 tsp cumin or jeera
. 2 cloves
. 2 green cardamoms
. Oil or butter as required
. 2-4 tsp fresh cream
. Salt as needed
Preparation .
- Fry paneer with 1 tsp oil for 2-3 minutes. You can drop them in water for 10-15 minutes to keep them soft. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pan add green chilles, spinach and fry for 2-3 minutes. After cooling grind to smooth puree.
Preparation - Palak paneer Gravy.
- Heat pan with oil, add in it cardamoms, cinnamon, cumin and cloves. When they splutter add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown colour.
- Add to this mixture garlic ginger paste till the raw smell vanishes.
- Add tomatoes and salt and fry it for some time.
- Now add to the mixture garam masala, kasuri methi and cumin or coriander powder.
- Pour half cup water and stir the mixture. Cook it till the mixture thickens.
- Now add the purees spinach stir well and cook till it begins to bubble.
- Add paneer to this mixture. Swith off the flame.
- Add cream now.
- You can serve palak paneer with chapati, naan or rice.
