Hire Match is releasing a new platform that is a little more complicated then a job application web site. Instead of candidates directly applying for jobs Hire Match uses agents. The way to earn Hire Match tokens as an agent is to find suitable people to fill listed job positions. In theory the Hire Match system should help employers find high quality individuals with out being spammed by those who are unqualified.
Employers can post their listings on the Match Hire platform for a small fee (in Hire Match tokens) and when the position is filled, using the platform, there will be another fee. The Hire Match token is a utility token, and as such is currently being offered to United States residents.
I can see the advantages of the Hire Match platform (having myself applied for and received sevral jobs online). From the point of view of a potential employee, when the jobs are posted on Hire Match there is a small fee. Companies will be incentivized to post only positions that they are actively seeking to fill. In case you don’t know, I myself have seen a number of positions being posted and reposted on job websites (which I was more then qualified for and applied to) that I suspect the company had no intention of filling what so ever. I was told this is a kind of fishing companies do in order to see whats out in the potential work force.
From a company view point, using an agent to personally recommend a qualified applicant looks like a way to find better quality workers. I said “looks like”, and not “is”. In the current job market place I have seen countless people hired for positions because of who they know. If there are no limitations on who can become an agent, what is going to stop people from becoming agents to refer friends and family members or good agents referring people based on a personal bias? That being said, companies will be the ones making the choices of who they hire.
Who do I think will use the Hire Match platform? Crypto currency adoption grows every day, but currently its only being adopted by a small portion of the population. However, some of those who have been in crypto currency for a longer period of time may have a considerable amount of wealth. Should an experienced crypto currency hodler decide to use some of their wealth to start up a new business then they may consider using this platform. Furthermore, newer adopters in crypto currency (or even wealthier ones) who have the right set of personal connections may want to look into this platform, as they can receive payment in Hire Market tokens for their recruitment services.
All in all, I think Hire Match looks like an interesting project, having a useful real world application, though I’m not sure how the project will perform. Hire Match already has a fully functional alpha as well as a front end app.
