Jesus and the humility: At the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you. Luke 14:14

Lord Jesus in many situations presented the Kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections as a banquet, sometimes as parables or fantastic stories like the Parable of the Great Banquet in Luke 14:15-23; but other times as stories of everyday life, many times Jesus was invited to eat with important people to present his mysterious teachings to the diners. And this comparison of the Kingdom with a banquet is because the Kingdom is mainly joy, happiness, and celebration.
And the gospel of Luke tells us a special moment in the life of Jesus, when he was invited to eat at the house of a Pharisee, there he performed a miraculous cure being the Sabbath day, but he also observed how the guests sought the first places.
And so it was that he gave an important lesson to the person who invited him to eat, a lesson about the humility necessary to enter into the Kingdom of God, if people act out of interest or selfishness to be rewarded for their actions, those people are not going to be blessed by God, what counts is what is done for those who, due to their state of defenselessness, cannot repay the effort made, in the Kingdom of God justice is always necessary, but sufficiency is in mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness). Jesus called men to live the love of God (Agape) in a selfless way.
This is how Jesus explained this spiritual truth in the gospel of Luke:
"When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you" Luke 14:12-14
