The Stanley Cup passing through Humboldt

The Humboldt Broncos hockey players were visited by the prestigious Stanley Cup on Friday as part of the opening of the Saskatchewan Junior Training Camp.

It was Washington Capitals striker Chandler Stephenson who took advantage of his day with the trophy to cheer up the Broncos day.

"It's great to see the people, all the support here, to make this day possible," said the Saskatoon native to Global News.

The Humboldt community was struck by the loss of 16 members in April when the team bus collided with a heavy truck.

"It's so good for me," said Kaleb Dahlgren, a survivor of the accident, at Sportsnet. I know the people who lost their lives and they would have really appreciated that gesture. I appreciate it too. "

Stephenson was not the only representative of the National Hockey League to be present for this very special day. They were a fortnight, including Saskatchewan native Brayden Schenn and Scott Hartnell.
