When I read đź“– the Forbes article my mind went into an old unrecognized problem by most Job Seekers:
- Between you and the Recruiter there could be an invisible layer of software you need to be aware of
Some leading companies use Applicant Tracking Systems, called ATS. When you apply to them, your CV is process first by a Parser that extract relevant content, say Keywords associated with jobs, and then create a flat file to be inputted into the HR Company Search Engine
It is at this point that your application will surface to the eyes of the Recruiter based on the weight points your data or content is given. But be conscious that the Recruiter is using Search Engine as interface and hence finding CV by using keywords she or he has in her mind. Not the keywords you have cook 🍳 up or adviced to , but the one really relevant to the search.
Forget it, if you believe the Company is seeing you your CV directly. They will get there if you rank in a given search engine very much as you see results in Google.
What we will see in a very near future is that if SAP ends up buying Vera we could end up seeing an Artificial Intelligence War between SAP and Microsoft LinkedIn where the fatalities are going to be not only the Recruiters themselves but the Candidates themselves: Human Resources ERP Modules will be evolving to the next frontier.
