How To - Trickle Tower (Simple Filtration system for aquariums)

So, trickle towers!

It´s a quite simple method to improve your aquarium / turtle aquarium filtration system, and usually most of the material everyone has at home!
It get in by a pump in the aquarium, It drains from the top, down, from one drawer to the next, like a waterfall, then gets back to the aquarium via gravity!

So this is the overall design!

Get one of these cabinets, and convert it into filtration drawers!

First, get a hole where the water will get in. In my case, I inserted this garden hose coupling and got the hose inside.
Sealed with hot glue!

Every drawer had holes on the bottom, to drain from one to the other.

First I had the coarse sponge, to filter the large particles (Inittially I had a thin sponge, but it restricted the water flow so much that the drawer would overflow!)

The next one I had some ceramics for a bit of biological filtering!

The last drawer is to collect the clean water, right before flowing back to the aquarium!

Later, I did a slightly bigger one, just because this one was quite small for the pump that I was using, and often would fill up the last drawer and overflow!

If you go on youtube, you can find dozens of similar projects, better ones! This was mine, temporary, and with things I had at hand at home!
